RC @ Tire Technology Expo 2012

RC will be exhibiting at Tire Technology Expofor the fifth consecutive year, held at the Köln Messe, Cologne, Germany from 14th - 16th February 2012.

Tire Technology Expo (TTE) has grown in strength and stature every year since it was started in Europe 12 years ago. Visitors and exhibitors to the latest conference and exhibition staged in February 2011 universally praised it as the ‘world's leading tire design and tire manufacturing event', noting in particular the outstanding quality of the conference papers and speakers, and the comprehensive extent of machinery manufacturers and suppliers who exhibited at the event.

TTE Programme 2012Rubber Consultants is exhibiting as TARRC/Rubber Consultants and can be found at stand No. 8680

Showcased on Stand 8680 will be Ekoprena™, a sustainable speciality NR material, produced in Malaysia, used as a replacement for synthetic rubber in tyres. Ekoprena™ tyre compounds demonstrate groundbreaking performance in terms of low rolling resistance and high wet grip. Services from Rubber Consultants will also be promoted on the stand, including the comprehensive tyre testing facilities and analytical PAH testing for tyre materials according to ISO 21461 (UKAS accredited).

TTE offers the visitor a technology showcase covering materials and equipment through the complete spectrum of the tyre design and manufacturing process. TTE also offers visitors, exhibitors, and conference delegates an unrivalled networking opportunity within the tyre design and manufacturing sector.

As part of the conference, which runs alongside the exhibition, RC scientists have been invited to give presentations again this year. Session 17 has been organised by RC's Director of Research, Dr Stuart Cook, who is also chairing the session, held on Thursday 16th February. The session is entitled 'Natural rubber: A new science and new properties'.

Wednesday 15th February 2012: Session 8
14:50 -
'Overview of testing requirements for aromatic extender oils in tires'
Dr Mark Perkins, RC

Thursday 16th February 2012: Session 17
10:20 -
'Blends of epoxidised natural rubber in tire applications'
Dr Andrew Chapman, RC

10:45 - 'AFM studies of filler morphology in strained silica-filled rubbers'
Dr Anna Kepas-Suwara, RC

RC has also co-organised a two day short course with Queen Mary, University of London (QMUL) entitled: 'Rubber Materials' on 13th and 14th February 2012. This course is designed specifically to give a detailed overview of all the core concepts involved in the design of rubber products.
