RC will be exhibiting at Tire Tech Expo (TTE) for the third consecutive year, held in Cologne, Germany from 9th-11th February 2010. Now in its tenth year in Europe, TTE is Europe's leading international Tire Design and Tire Manufacturing Exhibition and Conference.
RC is exhibiting as TARRC/Rubber Consultants and can be found at stand No. 9535
TTE offers the visitor a technology showcase covering materials and equipment through the complete spectrum of the tyre design and manufacturing process. TTE also offers visitors, exhibitors, and conference delegates an unrivalled networking opportunity within the tyre design and manufacturing sector.
As part of the conference, which runs alongside the exhibition, TARRC/RC scientists have been invited to give presentations again this year. The morning session held on Thursday 11th February entitled 'Natural rubber: Leading the way by example', has been organised by TARRC's Director of Research, Dr Stuart Cook. The session will also be chaired by Dr Cook who was newly appointed as Director of Research at TARRC in July last year. The presentations by RC scientists are:
09.55– 10.20 'Comparison of the microdispersion of silica in epoxidised natural rubber, natural rubber and synthetic rubbers'
Dr Andy Chapman, Head, Materials R&D Division
The former Director of Research at TARRC, Dr Andrew Tinker, is also giving two papers:
10.20– 10.45 'The Payne effect and hysteresis: a simple explanation and a new modulus filler relationship'
11.05– 11.30 'The Payne effect and hysteresis: demonstrated for different fillers and with coupling agents'
TARRC/RC has also co-organised a two day short course with Queen Mary, University of London (QMUL) entitled: 'The Behavior of Rubber Materials'.
This course is designed specifically to give a detailed overview of all the core concepts involved in the design of rubber products. If you wish to find out more information please visit the official website.
